ReStore Box Truck Driver/Product Mover

Tuesday - Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday 9 am - 4:00 pm

$19.70/hour, Full-time / Non-Exempt

Job Summary: 

The Truck Driver / Product Mover is one of the most public-facing positions in the organization and plays a key role in donor satisfaction, safe material handling, and mission representation in the community. The Truck Driver/Mover would be part of a 2- person team responsible for performing scheduled pickups of donation items from business and residential donors and delivering the donations to various ReStore locations. The Truck Driver/Movers pick up new or gently used donated items, i.e., building materials, appliances, furniture, and household goods throughout the Milwaukee County area. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Make local donation pick-ups using a 24’-26’ box truck and unload at various ReStore locations
• Review donations, compare to acceptable donation guidelines, and determine if donations can be accepted. If unacceptable, be able to decline donations professionally 
• Load materials/goods without causing damage to the donated items or donor property 
• Skilled in the use of straps, load bars, appliance dolly, and loading techniques
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to providing excellent customer service to every customer and donor
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and keep accurate records. Ensure that the vehicle conforms to all applicable transportation laws and regulations and is safe to operate.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must have at least 2 years of experience driving a 24-26 foot vehicle
• Excellent customer service skills and experience working with the general public

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently lift up to 75 pounds
• Frequent bending, lifting, grasping, reaching, pushing, and pulling materials (above and below head level)
• Frequently walk and climb on uneven surfaces and stairs
• Independently operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather, including heat, cold, and rain
