Position Overview: MHFH seeks an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR team. The
role is responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and attracting
candidates to interview and onboard. The TA will partner with hiring managers to understand staffing
needs and ensure a seamless candidate experience while attracting top talent aligned with MHFH goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: including intake interviews, candidate sourcing,
screening resumes, job postings, phone interviews, offer facilitation and pre-employment
screenings.
Leverage community-based relationships to create diverse and resilient recruitment networks.
Blend recruitment marketing with social media outreach to attract a high-quality candidate
pool.
Engage with Hiring Managers via structured intake meetings to clarify position requirements,
ensuring consistency throughout the recruitment process.
Coordinate pre-boarding activities (offer acceptance, documentation, reference checks and
background checks)
Partner with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth Day 1 experience
Provide new hires with clear expectations and onboarding plans
Ensure all onboarding materials, systems and access are ready prior to start date.
Follow up with new hires and managers at key milestones (week 1, 30, 60, 90 days)
Track and improve new hire experience and early retention metrics
Identify onboarding gaps and recommend improvements aligned with MHFH mission.
Perform other related duties as reasonably required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum of 3 years of full cycle recruiting experience
Strong sourcing and screening skills
Experience working in a fast-faced recruitment environment
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
Exceptional attention to details and documentation accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple funding streams and deadline simultaneously.
Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Capable of managing projects, processes, deadlines, and a budget while adhering to the policies
and procedures of the organization.
Strong personal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of ethics, integrity, and initiative.
Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining positive regard for
others.
Ability to articulate Milwaukee Habitat’s mission and the critical need for safe, decent and
affordable housing in Milwaukee to donors, prospects, volunteers and other stakeholders.
