Safety & Risk Management Coordinator

The Safety & Risk Management Coordinator plays a critical role in Milwaukee Habitat's mission to provide affordable housing solutions by using a collaborative approach to maintain a safe environment for all staff, volunteers, and customers.  They assess organizational risk, oversee plans to mitigate risk, and collaborate with risk management partners to maintain adequate insurance coverage to protect the organization and its stakeholders. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Develop, implement and manage safety program
  • Promote a strong and resilient safety culture environment
  • Deliver safety related courses
  • Seek data driven solutions to safety issues
  • Manage safety observation & safety survey programs
  • Coordinate regular safety committee meetings
  • Responsible for reporting and recordkeeping (including OSHA 300)
  • Update Milwaukee Habitat Safety Manual on an annual basis
  • Be a primary point of contact with police for safety related neighborhood and event
  • concerns

Risk Management / Logistics:

  • Management of material data sheets
  • Collect and track subcontractor certificates of insurance
  • Assist with compliance testing, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and similar
  • policies
  • Manage centralized discrimination claims process
  • Support efforts to identify and manage fraud concerns
  • Implement organizational Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan
  • Assist staff with contract review, from a risk management perspective

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Two (2) years’ experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs
  • Knowledge of state and federal statutes, laws and regulations related to safety
  • Superior accuracy, attention to detail, thoroughness, and project management
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suite and Learning Management
  • Systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Valid WI driver’s license, with good driving record (travel within service area is required)
  • Interest in the mission of Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity

Compensation / Benefits

  • Salary: $23-$27 per hour
