Job Summary:
The ReStore Assistant Manager is essential in providing support to the day-to-day operation by assisting in training employees and volunteers, overseeing donation warehouse operations, and ensuring that all staff comply with safety policies. The Restore Assistant Manager is also responsible for the opening /closing Store procedures, POS reconciliation, and proactively identifying and finding solutions to resolve customer issues on the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Associates and Volunteers are effectively assigned and execute the 5 core operational roles daily to meet specific operational and sales demands.
- Performs store opening and closing operations, including cash register reconciliation and simple deposits.
- Assist in training volunteers on safety and operational procedures.
- Participate in interviews for ReStore Associate candidates, ensuring a pipeline of mission-aligned talent.
- Monitor the operations of the Donation Warehouse, including training team members to sort, clean, recycle, and scrap items when necessary.
- Complete monthly safety training and ensure the team works together in compliance with safety expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Prior retail/resale experience needed with strong customer service skills.
- Able to safely lift and maneuver furniture, appliances, and building materials weighing at least 50 pounds.
- Able to spend most of the day standing or walking.
- Solid application of interpersonal and communication skills, internally and externally, with groups and individuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with volunteers is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Initiative reflected by a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and follow-up.
- Experience with conducting orientation, training, and onboarding of new hires.
- Experience in hiring, including competency-based interviewing for associate-level roles.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions with unexpected shifts in priorities, where flexibility is key.
