Position Overview: 

The In-Kind Donation Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and converting high-value business donors that fit Milwaukee ReStore’s premium donor profile. This role prioritizes building long-term, recurring business donor relationships over transactional, single-occasion donations. By focusing on donor sectors with proven potential to generate consistent, profitable donations, the IN-KIND DONATION MANAGER strengthens the ReStore’s long-term revenue pipeline and is accountable for the ReStore donor portfolio.


Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage prospective business donors within pre-approved premium donor sectors.
  • Locate and build relationships with the correct operational decision-makers (e.g., warehouse, facilities, or operations managers).
  • Evaluate donor fit by assessing donation types, cycles, volume potential, and logistical feasibility.
  • Guide donor prospects through initial onboarding and their early donation cycles. 
  • Cultivate donor relationships beyond the lead-generation period to establish consistent, long-term donation patterns.
  • Coordinate closely with Logistics (handoff only) to ensure accurate details for donation scheduling.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate donor contact information, donation history, and frequency tracking.
  • Update CRM and sector-specific activity logs with each interaction.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on leads generated, leads converted, and portfolio growth.
  • Track donor performance against sector-specific requirements and portfolio standards.
  • Partner with the Logistics Manager to ensure accurate donor information, timing, and donation notes for premium donor pickups.
  • Align with the Assistant ReStore Director and Store Managers on donation volume, expected load types, sector trends, and product flow.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred. 
  • Experience in business-to-business relationship development, account management, or donor development, 
  • Experience engaging with warehouse, logistics, facilities, or operations managers. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong ability to build relationships with business leaders and operational staff.
  • Consultative communication skills that uncover donation cycles and operational needs.
  • Capacity to evaluate donation potential with a focus on profitability, volume, and sustainability.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with an ability to focus on high-value opportunities.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing a donor pipeline and portfolio.
  • Comfort working independently and driving long-cycle cultivation efforts.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data tracking.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-departmentally to support operations, logistics, and ReStore leadership.
